Fotoware reinforces commitment to the DACH region

7. July 2023

Fotoware is one of the longest-standing Digital Asset Management (“DAM”) software vendors in the DACH region, delivering to customers in these markets since 1997.

Since then, we have expanded to serve more than 400 local customers across various industries, enabling them to make the most of their digital content by automating processes and workflows. Major German publishing houses, law enforcement agencies, cultural institutions, city administrations, and manufacturers trust Fotoware and rely on our solutions.

To better serve these customers and meet the growing demand in the market, we've acquired the German DAM vendor Xenario GmbH in April 2021 and the Switzerland-based tech company Picturepark in May 2022.

Expanding the product suite

As a result of the Picturepark acquisition, Fotoware now offers a suite of products to a wide range of customers, from law enforcement to retail, manufacturing, media & entertainment, and many more. Adding a Swiss development team is a deliberate move to add in-house tech skills for future innovation and enhancement.

Introducing quality management processes in line with ISO standards and further strengthening platform security has benefitted both internal and external operations.

And adding more dedicated account managers and marketing resources to the team has provided greater capability to meet future customer needs, offering even more value for existing customers.

Building an international community

All teams in the Fotoware group collaborate cross-country, leading to rigorous knowledge transfer and faster innovation of our product offering. This strategy has also successfully built greater resources to reach and serve customers around the globe.

As a result, Fotoware can now provide all group employees with new opportunities for career growth, enriching the company culture, resulting in higher customer satisfaction, lower churn rates, and higher net retention, registering double-digit growth for Picturepark throughout the previous 12 months.

Future investments in the German market

With the high demand for our products and the increasing importance of the challenges they solve, we expect this growth to continue in the years to come. Now, we are preparing to invest further in the German market, which is key for us to continue to provide new and existing customers with an outstanding experience. This includes more ambitious plans for acquisitions, as we are actively looking for companies that complement our strategy and products to become part of the Fotoware group and enable us to expand our footprint in Germany further.
