FotoWare takes 10th place in the Great Place to Work European ranking
By Amalie Widerberg on September 21, 2021
For the second year in a row, FotoWare was recognized in the Great Place to Work Europe award. This time, we were ranked 10th, which is a great accomplishment for any company that values its culture.
Only companies that have been identified as outstanding in their local region are able to participate in this ranking, which bases its results on in-depth analysis and surveys from over half a million employees across multiple countries.
"We believe an inclusive and diverse company culture motivates our employees to do their best work"
A focus on inclusion and diversity
Building a more inclusive and diverse workplace has been a key feature in FotoWare’s strategy over the last few years and it’s extremely rewarding to receive recognition such as this that shows we are on the right path.
"At FotoWare, we believe an inclusive and diverse company culture motivates our employees to do their best work, both internally and externally, and it is a central factor in our overall strategy. Receiving 10th place in the European Great Place to Work ranking this year is a huge honor for everybody in FotoWare. Not just because it's great to be recognized for our culture, but because it's a reflection of how the people here are experiencing FotoWare as a workplace. I feel inspired and motivated to continue to make FotoWare a great place to work.” - Anne Gretland
This placement adds to a long list of recognition FotoWare has received, given on the basis of culture and employee satisfaction - for example, the 2021 Equality Check ranking, the 2020 GPTW Norwegian and European ranking, the Oda Award, and the 2021 GPTW Norwegian ranking. This year, the covid-19 pandemic - and FotoWare’s handling of it - has been one of many focus points in the employee survey that contributes to the overall evaluation. The results show that it has been possible to maintain focus on strengthening company culture during tough times.
Recruiting during a pandemic
Receiving top placement means a lot, especially this year considering the number of new employees that have been recruited and onboarded during the past 12 months. While in the midst of a pandemic, we are proud to see ourselves growing, and with home offices and travel restrictions becoming mainstream, it is really exciting to see that the FotoWare employees - both old and new - feel appreciated and taken care of at the company.
"During the past twelve months, we have hired and onboarded over 30 new employees, and I am so proud to be a part of a company that values and recognizes the importance of this process."
Recruiting is a key factor in building a great company culture and ensuring a thorough and welcoming recruitment process has therefore been a central focus point:
"Recruiting the right people is very important for us since it is the people who make the culture. When hiring, we always try to look for people who are open-minded and compliment the team. We are also focusing a lot on ensuring an inclusive onboarding process where our new co-workers get introduced to all the different departments at FotoWare, making them feel safe and at home here. During the past twelve months, we have hired and onboarded over 30 new employees, and I am so proud to be a part of a company that values and recognizes the importance of this process." - Arna Storm, Recruitment Specialist
