It’s the same product - a DAM and a content platform - just with a new name. 

After Fotoware acquired Picturepark, the name “Picturepark” is gradually being phased out.

Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a network of servers and data centers enabling shorter loading time for data-heavy applications.  

The REST API allows you to connect the Content Platform with third-party applications, such as Content Management Systems (CMS), design tools, brand portals, and more. Once connected, your files are always accessible no matter the system, and duplicates are avoided. 

You can set pre-determined focal points within the Content Platform, allowing for successful resizing when needed.  

The API also allow you to map data structures available in third party data management systems such as and Product Information Management Collection Management Systems, so that each data value only needs to be added once and will automatically update across channels – ensuring a single source of truth and full control of all content data.  

Adaptive metadata refers to a capability in Fotoware Alto to dynamically present metadata on an asset that is personalized to the user or connected system it is presented in. 

Instead of using one metadata schema for all assets across the DAM, Picturepark lets you assign multiple metadata layers to assets and control which layers are visible to different user groups or external systems, like a CMS or PIM - enabling tailored metadata views for each user or connected system.

This flexible approach ensures users only see metadata that’s relevant to them and appropriate for the asset - supporting complex content lifecycles, improving governance, and delivering a more personalized, efficient experience than traditional DAMs.

Relational metadata refers to metadata that connects. For example, if you have a picture taken of London, relational metadata may include tags like “UK”, “England”, and “Europe”.  

You can develop a structure of metadata relations that fit your exact needs, and in this way make content optimization a faster and easier process, with an extensive and controlled vocabulary.

Even though Fotoware Alto is specialized in structured metadata, you can also add data directly to selected files, if system configurations allow for it.
