Media Management Award 2019 Finalists

By Radmila Stolz on September 10, 2019

Icelandic police & hospital collaboration, Australia's leading performing arts school, and a global publisher dedicated to providing the best possible service to the whole research community have been named as the finalists for the inaugural Media Management Award.

The Media Management Award is a recognition of the people that make a difference in media management. It lauds the world's best projects in media management. It's focused on the results a person or a team can achieve when working together across functions and goals. And it rewards those that add substantial value toward reaching the organization's goals.

''I think we need such an award to show what is possible at all. Still far too often, I see companies or public organizations that store their photos, videos, documents, sounds, and other digital goods in Windows folders and subfolders and use this data poorly." Says one of the jury members Turgay Gül, IT, Hamburg Police.

"We need to show companies that there are better ways of dealing with media than they currently are. They need to understand that there are solutions available that can solve these challenges and that there are other companies fighting the same battles. If we all start sharing what we have learned, everyone wins!" says Andreas Gnutzmann, CTO, FotoWare

The award jury consisted of five technology experts from different industries, including travel & tourism, news & media, and police & intelligence. Applicants were evaluated based on nine criteria in the three categories of Innovation, Impact, and Responsibility. The award received nominations from the UK, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Sweden, and Australia across five different industries, and after a tough evaluation process, the three finalists were chosen with very close scores between them.
