For the 3rd year in a row, FotoWare is taking part in the Norwegian Great Place to Work award. In both 2020 and 2021, we received 1st place within the category of 20-49 employees*. This year, we are more people than ever before, meaning the competition is much tougher. Therefore, we're incredibly proud to announce that not only have we received the certification this year as well, but we've also been named the best workplace in Norway for companies between 50-200 employees.
But what does it mean to be a great place to work?
Employees in any company want to get to work every day and be able to feel safe and be able to be themselves. Everyone wants to be able to do their best work and perform at their highest level. And to do that, the work culture and the work environment must be healthy and credible, as well as have employees who want to help each other and who want each other's best. Employees who not only want to perform and win for themselves but for each other - and to deliver the best possible products and services for their customers and partners. - Anne Gretland, CEO
After being acquired by Viking Venture back in 2020, FotoWare has been on a continuous growth journey, increasing its size from approximately 35 people to 89 (YTD). Considering that this expansion has taken place during a pandemic, we're particularly proud of ensuring employee satisfaction throughout these past months.
For FotoWare to receive 1st place in Norway's best workplaces for three years in a row is a fantastic achievement and speaks volumes about the culture we have built and continue to develop. Achieving this while growing so rapidly, moving up into the 50-199 size category, and during such unusual and unprecedented times with Covid, makes it even more remarkable and something that everyone should be proud about. - Alex Kronenberg, Acting Head of Marketing & Communications
At FotoWare, we find that ensuring a strong company culture is a key ingredient for success. Therefore, we've implemented four core values to our business structure: Innovative, Responsible, Caring, and Passionate, all of which contribute to building and maintaining this. According to CEO of Great Place to Work Norway, Jannik Krohn Falck, modern Norwegian companies are particularly lacking in terms of innovative work habits, making these values particularly favorable for our strategy:
"To meet the challenges that lie ahead, innovation is crucial. This is on the agenda of almost every top manager, but recent findings show that most Norwegian companies have difficulties in this regard, which result in huge loss of efficiency and many lost opportunities for both the individual company and the Norwegian society." - Jannik Krohn Falck, CEO, Great Place to Work Norway.
Receiving 1st place for the 3rd year in a row, is not only a great recognition but also a sign that employees at FotoWare appreciate our corporate strategy. In addition to promoting innovation, we're also striving to ensure a diverse and inclusive culture, currently having employees of 23 different nationalities and a female representation of 40 %.
Creating that culture requires effort from all employees, no matter what department they work in or what role they have. For a culture to be healthy and flourishing, it must be inclusive, collaborative, and transparent, and the employees must have the will to act as a team. - Anne Gretland, CEO
*The Great Place to Work award divides organizations into four categories based on size. Previously, FotoWare has been in the category for workspaces with less than 50 employees. However, this year, we compete in another category reserved for organizations with more than 50 and less than 200 workers.
