We're delighted to welcome Tonje Larsen into the FotoWare family, as the newest addition to our marketing team! Find out what she will be tasked with doing at our Oslo HQ, what she thinks is the most important when engaging with customers, and what her very first impressions of Digital Asset Management were...
What is your role within the company? As a Customer Engagement Specialist, I am working in the crossroads between marketing and sales (Attract & Engage). My main focus is on helping those who are interested in FotoWare to find the information they need, create content that is relevant to them and give them advice based on their needs. I am also responsible for owning and continuously improving the engagement process with the prospects, both directly and through marketing campaigns.
It's important to genuinely care about the customer getting as much value from your product as possible
Why did you decide to choose FotoWare? First of all, FotoWare is a great product – as a marketer, I have really felt the need for a product like this! One of the other things that made FotoWare as a company very attractive to me, was their values (innovative, responsible, passionate and caring) and that they were following the Flywheel model, putting the customer in the center.
In which case do you find a DAM solution very useful in your day-to-day role? As a marketer, I spend a lot of time looking for the right files to use – images, logos, brochures, presentations, and so on. The metadata in a DAM system makes it easy for me to search for what I need, saving me unnecessary time spent going through an endless folder structure. It reduces the mess and confusion in teams. And maybe the most important; it decreases the chances of somebody using wrong files, which can be a real disaster.
How did you describe Digital Asset Management to friends and family? As a better way of storing and organizing your assets, especially for teams working together on the same files. I explained how the images can be tagged so it is easier to find what you are looking for. I also told them about how the police are using Digital Evidence Management, to showcase a user example.
Where can you be found outside the office? You will find me in the outdoors with my Irish setter, Kira – I especially love hiking and skiing in the mountains. I also spend a lot of time in the gym running and lifting weights. In the evenings I like going out for dinner and drinks with friends, dancing and going to concerts.
What do you most enjoy about working in Marketing? I get really motivated by seeing results from what I spend my time on, and a lot of marketing efforts can easily be measured these days. There are so many factors affecting how your campaign is going and I love tweaking them, testing different options, trying to figure out how to optimize the campaign. I love the combination of being creative, analyzing data, and keeping up to date on the latest trends and research on the topic.
What gets you up in the morning? What excited you about your job and working here? My colleagues’ drive and skills, as well as the company culture – both internally and when it comes to customer relations. I also find my role really motivating, it suits me very well working in the crossroads between marketing and sales.
What do you think is the most important when engaging with customers? It's important to genuinely care about the customer getting as much value from your product as possible, and to be aware of the impact your energy can have on other people.
